2S1 Technology, Inc. (together with our affiliates, “2S1”, “we”, “our” or “us”) respect our users’ privacy and are committed to keeping secure any information we obtain from or about our users (“Users” or “you”). This Privacy Policy describes our practices with respect to Personal Data that we collect from or about you when you use the LegiPlex services (“Services”).

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the content that we obtain from third parties in order to provide the Services to Users.

1. Personal Data that We May Collect.

We collect personal data relating to you (“Personal Data”) as follows:

Personal Data You Provide: We collect Personal Data if you create an account to use our Services or communicate with us. This includes:

  1. Account Information: We will collect the information associated with your account, such as your name, email address, payment information, and the like (“Account Information”).
  2. User Output: We will collect any Personal Data that is incorporated into any report, summary, or other output from the Services that you request and obtain (“Output”). This may include your request criteria or datapoints that you use.
  3. Communication Information: If you communicate with us, we may collect any Personal Data included in that communication (“Communication Information”).
  4. Other Information You Provide: We may collect other information that you provide to us, such as your response to our surveys or any feedback that you provide (“Other Information You Provide”).

Technical Information: When you visit, use, or interact with the Services, we receive the following information about your visit, use, or interactions (“Technical Information”):

  1. Log Data: We may collect information from your browser or device when you use our Services. This would include your Internet Protocol address, browser type and settings, the date and time of your request, and how you interact with our Services.
  2. Usage Data: We may collect information about your use of the Services. This would include the topics included in your searches or research, the legislation that research, any date ranges of your searches, and similar items. This may also include the dates and times of your use, the type of computer or mobile device used, and the details of your computer connection.
  3. Device Information: We may collect information about the device that you use to access the Services.
  4. Location Information: We may determine and collect the general area from which your device accesses our Services based on information like your computer’s IP address. We would do this for security reasons as well as to enhance your experience.

Cookies and Similar Technologies: A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to a user’s browser from a web server and is stored on the computer’s hard drive. 2S1 uses non-identifying cookies to provide easier site navigation. The Services can still be used if your browser is set to reject cookies. 2S1’s cookies do not generate Personal Data, do not read Personal Data from your machine, and are never tied to anything that could be used to identify you. You may set the browser on your computer to notify you before a cookie is received, giving you an opportunity to decide whether to accept the cookie. You may also set your browser to turn off cookies; however, if you do that, we cannot ensure that the Services will work in the manner that you want them to work.

Information We Receive from Other Sources: We may collect information from other sources, like information that is publicly available on the internet. We would do this in order to continue to improve the Services.

2. How We Use Personal Data.

We may use Personal Data (i) to improve the Services; (ii) to communicate with you; (iii) to improve your experience using the Services; (iii) to prevent fraud, illegal activity, or misuse of the Services; (iv) to protect the security of the Services or to protect the rights or privacy of Users; or (v) to comply with laws. We may anonymize Personal Data (so that it does not identify you or any other User) and use such anonymized Personal Data for any of these purposes.

We do not sell or share Personal Data for cross-marketing purposes, and we do not process Personal Data for “targeted advertising” purposes (as those terms are defined under state privacy laws). We also do not process sensitive Personal Data for the purposes of making assumptions about a consumer.

3. Disclosure of Personal Data.

We may disclose your Personal Data in the following circumstances:

Business Transfers: If we engage in a business transaction in which User accounts will be transferred (collectively, a “Transaction”), your Personal Data will be disclosed to our successor in such Transaction.

Government Authorities or Other Third Parties: We may share your Personal Data with government authorities or other third parties in compliance with the law, a legal obligation, a court order, or a valid subpoena, if we are required to do so or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary. We may also disclose Personal Data in a court or legal proceeding to protect our rights or in the event we believe that there has been a violation of these Terms or that we believe such disclosure is necessary to protect us against legal liability.

Affiliates: We may disclose Personal Data to our affiliates, and any such affiliates will only use the Personal Data in compliance with this Privacy Policy.

4. User Rights

You may have legal rights relating to your Personal Data. For example, you may have the right to (i) access your Personal Data and find out how it is processed; (ii) delete your Personal Data from our records; (iii) update or correct your Personal Data; (iv) transfer your Personal Data to a third party; (v) restrict how we use your Personal Data; (vi) withdraw your consent to our use of the Personal Data; (vii) object to how we process your Personal Data; or (viii) file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We may require you to verify your credentials before you can submit a request to know, correct, or delete Personal Data (so we can protect your Personal Data from unauthorized access, change, or deletion). If we suspect fraudulent or malicious activity, we may ask you to provide additional Personal Data for verification. If we cannot verify your identity, we will not be able to honor your request.

You may submit a request through an agent. If you do so, the agent must provide written and signed permission to act on your behalf; you may also be asked to independently verify your identity with us (by confirming your credentials as described above).

5. Retention.

We’ll retain your Personal Data for only as long as we need in order to provide our Services to you or for other legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes, safety and security reasons, or complying with our legal obligations.

6. Security.

We use commercially reasonable methods to protect your Personal Data from unauthorized use, misuse, or disclosure. No security system is completely secure. We suggest that you take special care in deciding what information you provide to the Services. In addition, we are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings incorporated in the Services.

7. Additional U.S. State Disclosures.

Some U.S. state privacy laws require specific disclosures. Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have rights in addition to those listed above, including the right:

  • to know information about our processing of your Personal Data; and
  • to be free from discrimination relating to the exercise of any of your privacy rights.

8. Changes to the Privacy Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will publish an updated version and effective date on our website (in addition to any other method that may be required by applicable law).
